Happier with these recent ones.

Last one from Kauai, I think.

this is really beautiful! It's not very often that I fav two of someones photos in one day (well ever!) but this is too much to not.

great work! the lowlights are so beautiful did you use a grad nd filter or anything, here? how was this achieved?

well..... it's under photomanip for a reason.... Levels & Curves & Some manual erasing of some crappy background windows mess. =P

But you can breathe easy in that that they were not submitted the same day!

(I try not to submit too much in the same day either. Two today... I'm going to hold off on the next ones.)

EEEERRRRR. :killself: Disregard that last STUPID comment which was kind of All Wrong and Not Even Referring To the right piece. :killself: I was in a different groove from just finishing the second submission today. MAybe It's Late.

It could have been done with a grad ND filter, which I don't have. So I used the digital equivalent, trying to sneak it by but you caught me.
._.

Then some color balencing and the necessary leveling and whatever kinds of RAW interpreting I did.

Wow I feel so stupid right now.

Correction: as noted below, this is not appreciably digitally manipulated. This comment was a big chunk of confusion on my part.

cool, usually people blow out clouds and assume they can bring them back in post, but you did a great job here you must have exposed for teh clouds or intentionally under exposed doing a day for night kind of effect, either way well done!

and dont feel stupid, these kind of mix ups happen.

I HATE blowing clouds. It was a bright day, and I was shooting straight away from the sunrise, so it wasn't too bad...... Yeah going back and looking at the raw histogram, the exposure is just about perfect which is all that gave me the flexibility to do this.

Very nice shot, the colors evoke the dampness in the air during/after a storm.

it looks like it, the clouds are nicely exposed and the ground is a little dark but yeah, you can tell it was well exposed.
